Meet the Principal

FUN FACTS ABOUT ME

1. My son and daughter have both played basketball games on ESPN when they were in college.

2. I was one of the tallest kindergarten teachers in Indiana.

3. I’ve been duct-taped to a wall, kissed a pig, and had pies thrown at me to celebrate students reaching their reading goals.

4. I try to eat ice cream every day. This is something that started when my son did not like milk and it helped him reach daily calcium intake as a child.

5. I am proud to be an adopted child. Being a principal/educator helps me honor my adoptive parents by each year adopting 600+ children and helping them be the best they can be.

6. I have watched 99% of the episodes of Survivor and The Amazing Race.

PRINCIPAL SCOTT GEIST

I began my teaching career as a 6th grade teacher and later transitioned to kindergarten, where I spent the last seven years of my 19-year teaching journey. In addition to teaching, I also coached basketball and track. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with students of all abilities, which, combined with my teaching and coaching background, shaped my core philosophies of success for students: show up daily, set high expectations in all you do, and work hard to achieve your goals.

Before becoming the principal of Lincoln Elementary, I served as an assistant principal in multiple buildings, gaining valuable experience in educational leadership. I have always been passionate about helping others, and the opportunity to serve families, teachers, and students has been a driving force in my career. At Lincoln Elementary, I strive to create a school where students feel safe to fail, safe to use their voices, and understand that being an active learner—engaged, curious, and fully participating in their education—is essential for success. I believe that being an active student is a requirement for achieving one's goals. Lincoln Elementary is truly a great place to be, and I am honored to lead such a vibrant and supportive community.

Our students are exceptional because they understand what it means to be actively engaged in their education. They show remarkable enthusiasm and commitment to those they care about. They’ve embraced their learning journey, setting their own goals with the support of our dedicated teachers, who help them form and achieve these objectives. As a team, we share a strong camaraderie and genuinely support one another. From the moment you enter Lincoln, the positive atmosphere is palpable. Every staff member is deeply committed to enhancing the lives of our students in every possible way. We maintain a bully-free environment, with both adults and students working together every day to uphold this standard. We are dedicated to supporting our families and always strive to exceed the usual expectations of our roles as educators.
